What We Measure
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Academic assessments ensure children are prepared for Kindergarten and stay on track for success, Results offer an opportunity to pivot and adjust if necessary, and provide us an understanding of the longterm effects of early childhood education and its association with workforce size, competence, and stability.
PHYSICAL HEALTH
During infancy and toddlerhood, the human brain develops at a dizzying rate. Physical deprivation at this stage can reduce the overall size and functioning of the brain, and the effects of trauma have been linked to lifelong problems including higher rates of depression, heart, lung, and liver disease; poor academic and work performance; and financial stress.
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL HEALTH
Social and emotional well-being allows people to work more productively and cope with life stresses. Emotionally agile children become better problem solvers when faced with an emotional situation, and are better able to engage in learning tasks.
